Magazines for the PPK/S are made of plastic. The CO2 gas, under pressure, is in a liquid form and thus extremely cold and weakens plastic. By allowing the plastic to warm up for several minutes you allow it to regain its elasticity and add hundreds of shots to the life of the magazine.
